A Taste of Week 4

Kia ora tātou,

This week we got well into our routines. Here are some of the moments we have managed to capture throughout the busy past 5 days.

We began the new Number unit with a Basic Facts Bricks test to see where we’ll be working at.

Our Lovable Leopards practiced their spelling words on whiteboards:

Students learned how to use the literacy and maths game stations:

On Friday Mrs Taylor came in to teach us some Digital Literacy. This session focused on how to use the photo cut and paste function on the iPads to mix and match parts of our classmates’ faces.

To boost our own and others’ self confidence and sense of self worth, we all thought of something we appreciate about or think is a strength of someone else in the hub. We stuck these sticky notes onto ourselves, then added them to the posters we made about our own strengths and special qualities.

We talked about how we are all unique and have different strengths, therefore we all have value – E Tū Tangata!

Nau mai, haere mai to Te Māuru e Taki nei 2023!

Kia ora e te whānau o Te Māuru e Taki Nei. Maligayang pagdating, huanying, bula, hoan geng kong lim, svaagat, bienvenido, afio mai, we wish you all the warmest welcome to Te Māuru e Taki Nei.

This blog has been redesigned this year as a platform for us to share with you the wonderful work that our students will create throughout the year. This is to enhance students’ progress and confidence through making learning visible to all of a student’s support network, and providing them with an authentic audience to share their work with.

Please treat this blog as another source of information of what is happening around our hub. We would appreciate if you could leave encouraging comments under these posts to tautoko the learning journeys of our tamariki. Because just how it takes a village to raise a child, it takes the support and contribution of many to enable a student’s success.
