100 Day Celebration

Last Friday we had our 100-day celebration!

During Term 3, we started focusing on Calendar Maths. Within this, we began counting how many days we had been at school.
It only seemed right to celebrate our 100th birthday, and what better way to do so than by dressing up as 100-year-olds?

There were some amazing outfits and characters, and we also loved some of the old items students brought in.
We completed lots of fun 100 day activities throughout the day and had a fabulous time together!

EAST Club!

On Thursday the 24th of October we headed to Southbridge to attend the annual EAST club.

First we attended the show where we go to see lots of animals, go on tractor rides and see sheep being sheared. The children loved going on the tractor rides and be able to pat the animals.

After spending some time at EAST club we got back on the bus and headed to Southbridge school where we got to have our lunch and play on their awesome playground. The children loved exploring a different school and being able to see what other schools are like as well as make some new friends.

After a long day the children enjoyed the bus ride home where we had some very sleepy children!

Overall it was a fantastic day and the children had a blast!

Athletics- Run, Jump, Throw

Yesterday, we participated in our annual junior athletics afternoon ran by our fabulous Year 5 &6 PALS. There was a range of activities like sack race, hoop throwing, bean bag aim. The children had an amazing time and gave everything a go. It was lovely to see our hub supporting the younger students with the activities. Check out some of our snaps from the afternoon:

Jumping June

Last week those students who raised money for Jumping June received their chosen prizes. There were lots of exciting new toys and resources going home!

Congratulations to Harlow for raising the most money within the school. He raised an astonishing $535!
Miss Pringle’s class also raised the most money in the whole school – $1200! Whoop Whoop!

Celebration of Learning

What a fabulous turnout of amazing parents who came to learn more about our Technology unit on Thursday. We are so grateful to have such supportive parents and caregivers willing to invest time into sharing our learning with us. Our children love teaching our families about what they have been learning. We hope all our parents went away having learned something new from our budding scholars. (and maybe find yourself still humming our very catchy song.)

Book Week!!

Last week we celebrated book week with a range of exciting activities. We had a daily library quiz which two of our students won and a book cover design which the top three design will be announced on Friday at our school assembly. You can check out the rest of the top designs on the staffroom windows. On Thursday we had our famous school wide character dress up which was such success! Enjoying the warmer days

Over the last few weeks it has been getting warmer outside which means we have been able to get outside more and enjoy the warmer weather.

In P.E we have been focusing on moving our bodies, with this we have been learning about relays. It has been great to see the children giving these a go and learning how to work as a team.

Check out these cool photos of us outside enjoying the warmer weather.

Expanding our vocabulary in the classroom

In classroom we have been focusing on expanding our vocabulary and adding more detail to our writing. Recently we have been learning about nouns, adjectives and similes. The children have been working really hard at adding these words into their writing.

They are writing with much more detail and are writing more interesting stories.

This is fantastic to see and we cannot wait to see them continue to use these words in their work.

New Build on the Way

This week school has been looking a bit different with the start of the build for our new buildings that are going beside the bike track. The children have loved looking and talking about all the cool things that are going on with the building equipment and the builders.

They have loved being able to stand by the fences during break time and watch the builders do there thing. It has been a great discussion topic in the classroom! We have some very observant children in Te Māuru-e-taki-nei.

Bike Track is Open Again!

Welcome back to term 3! At the end of last term we had some exciting progress with our new build which meant we had to close the bike track. As of Wednesday this week, the bike track reopened for lunch times. We have added some photos of how you can access the new route to the track. Parents, if you could please show these to your children so that they know!
